Competact contains the active ingredients Pioglitazone 15mg and Meformin 850mg. This is a treatment for type 2 diabetes used with proper diet and exercise to treat high blood sugar levels.
Pioglitazone works by helping your body use insulin better. It reduces insulin resistance, and reduces the amount of glucose in the liver and blood.
Metformin works by reducing the absorption of sugar from the stomach, reducing the release of stored sugar from the liver, and helps your body use sugar better. This lowers the amount of glucose in the blood.
Diabetes mellitus refers to a group of diseases that affect how your body uses blood sugar (glucose).
The cause of diabetes varies by type. However, no matter what type of diabetes you have, it can lead to excess sugar in your blood and to much sugar in your blood can lead to serious health problems.
Chronic diabetes: type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes.
Potentially reversible diabetes: Prediabetes and gestational diabetes.
Gestational diabetes: occurs during pregnancy but may resolve after the baby is delivered.
