What is the active ingredient in Simple Linctus Paediatric and how does it work?

The active ingredient in simple linctus is citric acid monohydrate. Citric acid works by coating the throat, relieving the effects of cough and soothing the throat. Citric acid is found naturally in the body and is often used as a pH-control agent in certain types of food.

Warnings and Precautions

Do not give Simple Linctus Paediatric sugar-free to your child if:

They are allergic to any of the ingredients this product contains.

Speak to your GP or pharmacist before giving this product to your child if:

• They have an intolerance to some sugars, as this product contains maltitol liquid

• They are on any other medication

Note: 

This product contains small amounts of alcohol, with less than 100mg of ethanol per 5ml dose.

Ingredients

The active ingredient is Citric Acid Monohydrate 31.25 mg/5 ml equivalent to 28.57 mg/5 ml Anhydrous Citric Acid.

Other ingredients: glycerol (E422), sodium carboxymethylcellulose, sodium benzoate (E211), saccharin sodium (E954), maltitol liquid (E965), ethanol, star anise oil, purified water

How do I take/give Simple Linctus Paediatric?

Dosage:

Children: ONE or TWO 5ml doses, three to four times a day

Adults: Follow the recommended dosage given to you by your GP or pharmacist
